Heading for RawHyde

Hey, so I am leaving this Sunday October 16th 2011 for Rawhyde Intro to Adventure in California. Riding my new 2011 R1200 GS down. Just getting all my gear together. I'll try to post pics and chat a bit.

I just bought Sidi Adventure Rain boots. They are a bit stiff so I've been wearing them everyday. They squeak when you walk. Not so thrilled about that but otherwise they are conmfy. Trying to shift with them and having a bit of a problem. Looking to solve that.
More to come.

Leavenworth, Washington

So yesterday I met up with a couple of friends to go for lunch in Leavenworth. It's our re-creation of a Bavarian Village. It's pretty easy to get to via Highway 2 thru the scenic Wenatchee National Forest.

The group I rode with were primarily Lesbians and two straight friends. It was nice to meet "Family" who ride. I haven't had that opportunity much. I was the only male for most of the trip and the only one without a cruiser. But it was all good. The weather was amazing. Almost too hot in Leavenworth, which is not really my kind of place but the ride there is always pretty and the company great.

So all in all it was a good Saturday.

Whistler in July 2011

So this past weekend a bunch of us took Friday off and rode up to Whistler B.C. It was an amazing weekend. Perfect weather, great friends, amazing roads. Five of us in a suite. Here are some pics of the weekend.

Birth of an Adventurer...I hope

So I just did the unthinkable, I traded in my two cruisers, a VTX 1800 and a Harley Rocker C (my baby) and bought a 2011 BMW F800 GS. My god what am I thinking?

My hope is that it will take me to new places around the world....or at least on the continent for now.

This bike is a true Enduro bike made for touring, commuting and adventure riding on less than perfect roads. It can take on rough terrain and easy pavement. And I've named him Timmy.

At first I was joking with a friend because I normally don't give my bikes a name but its a tradition. So jokingly I said Timmy. I like it because it reminds me of a kid screwing up his face in determination. That's gonna be me.

So onward to the next phase of my motorcycle life. Timmy and Me!
